I had a fun afternoon taking out this 99 SVT multiple times over about a 45 minute time span. I saw him at the cellular phone place and waited for him to leave then it was on. At first he wouldn't bite but then when he did the traffic was too much so we headed to the interstate. Well just about this time a black Eclipse GS came up on me and wanted some so I first, SERIOUSLY put his lights out and then got back to the task at hand. Then the fun began, it was neat to see someone with traction troubles too and I even hung with him from a stop. From a 30mph rolling start I let him have it. Disbelief is all I can sayI pulled on him everytime and ran even with him once when I so gently bounced the rev limiter (thank you J&S
) He was cool though and we raced all the way across town to the interstate and back, then I showed him what was under the hood. he told me this story about the recalls and how he will get 50 more hp when they finished but I just told him that I am game for any battle. Oh, yeah. That GS showed up about 5 minute later, I guess he had tried to follow us the whole time. Well I gotta gas up and get ready to go to the grocery store, you never know who will be on the street

No problems at all related to the 8psi upgrade. I would attribute this to the safeguards that I invested in from the start. Next comes the HO fuel pump, I have the regular 255lph Walbro (Hi Jim, and thanks 1fstgsrI was surprised as hell.

On another note you gotta love the top end power with the SC setup. I was ditching an Eclipse the other week and came over a rise in 3rd gear about 6500 RPM and when my front end lightened up it quickly broke free and roasted 'em up to 8000. I never had to worry about traction over 50 mph before (hehe).
how can anyone not believe it, ive met some pretty quick jrsc gsr's, id take one over a cobra anyday, good kill, cant wait to get my car back on the road

Great kill!!! My best friend a 99 Mustang Cobra and I have a 99 GSR. Everytime we would come next to each other we would race and of course he would hand me my a$$ on an SVT platter. Well he just got the fix about a month ago so he should have the full 320hp and I should have my JRSC'd Integra back sometime next week. I think it's time to play now!
One question...did that Cobra have his fix yet?
What's the Recall/Fix on these cars that is robbing so much power?

The recall is because apparently Ford motor Corp. quoted 320 or so for the HP on the SVT Cobra's and non of the Cobra's that customers recieved are making close to that, more like 280. I guess what happened was Ford used a prototype car for the hp quotes and the exhaust all the way back and the computer program some how got swapped out and none of the production cars got the hpSo the recall is gonna give them a completely new exhaust from the front to back and an upgraded computer program. Kinda like Honda forgeting the Vtec in our GSR's
